Nephrology is a branch of internal medicine dealing with the study of the function and diseases of the kidney. A nephrologist specialises in diagnosing and treating problems with kidneys, high blood pressure, fluid retention, and electrolyte imbalance. Most diseases affecting the kidney are not limited to the organ itself, but are systemic disorders – they affect the whole body.
At NWSC our service is centered around the diagnosis of kidney disease and its treatment (medication, dialysis, transplantation), as well as the care of electrolyte disorders and hypertension.
