Assoc. Prof. Ian Glaspole

Associate Professor Ian Glaspole has a large practice in Melbourne’s inner east and west.

He has broad experience treating all forms of respiratory, allergy and sleep disorders. His areas
of research expertise are in interstitial lung disease and allergic disease. A/Prof Glaspole has a public appointment at the Alfred Hospital where he heads the Interstitial Lung Disease clinic.

A/Prof Glaspole has maintained a strong research focus since completing his PhD, within which he studied the human cellular immune response to nut allergens. Since then, Associate Professor Glaspole’s research has focused on interstitial lung disease, and has included numerous clinical trials exploring treatments for idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis, along with other clinical and laboratory based research, principally focused on improving the symptoms and quality of life of sufferers of these rare lung diseases.

A/Prof Glaspole is a member of the Thoracic Society of Australia & New Zealand, the Australian Society of Clinical Immunology and Allergy, and the Australian Sleep Association.
