Respiratory & Sleep Disorders Physician
Dr Mathew Rodrigues is a Respiratory and Sleep Disorders Physician with extensive clinical experience of over 25 years in various areas of respiratory, sleep and general medicine. Dr Rodrigues’ special interests include:
Obstructive airway diseases (asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease), lung cancer screening, interstitial lung diseases, pulmonary infections and sleep disordered breathing.
Between 1987 and 2002 Dr Rodrigues obtained both his MBBS and MD, completing his training at Apex tertiary multispecialty hospitals in India and Singapore. Dr Rodrigues completed further specialist physician training and senior registrarship at Peninsula Health, Victoria with Monash University between 2003 and 2006. In 2007 Dr Rodrigues also successfully obtained a Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) and completed a Clinical Fellowship with the Royal Melbourne Hospital. Dr Rodrigues is a life-time member of both the Thoracic Society of Australia & New Zealand and the Australasian Sleep Association. He is also a member of the Australian Medical Association (AMA) and a Fellow of the American College of Chest Physicians (FCCP).
Dr Rodrigues is also a Consultant Physician in Respiratory, Sleep & General Medicine with Western Health. Dr Rodrigues can arrange for patients to have hospital-based sleep studies at the Brunswick Private Hospital. He is also a Clinical Faculty Academic for Melbourne University’s Western Clinical School.
