Urological Consultant & Robotic Surgeon
Andrew is Melbourne born and educated and completed his medical training at The University of Melbourne. After completing basic surgical training at Royal Melbourne Hospital he was accepted onto the Victorian Urology training programme and completed this in 2000. He is a fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons and a member of the Urological Society of Australia and New Zealand.
Following his urology training he undertook a 12 month fellowship in Endourology at the Western General Hospital in Edinburgh. During that time he gained extensive experience in laparoscopy, flexible ureteroscopy, percutaneous renal surgery and lithotripsy. He has since traveled to Seattle for training in prostate Brachytherapy and California for training on the Da Vinci Robot. He has also visited Tokyo to learn the technique of HIFU for prostate cancer.
Andrew returned to Melbourne to join Urology Consultants Victoria in 2002. He is a visiting urologist at both the Austin Hospital and Box Hill Hospital. His private practice is based at the Epworth Freemasons Hospital in East Melbourne. He also visits Epworth Eastern, Cotham Private and Essendon Private Hospitals to consult and operate.
He practices in all areas of urology but has a special interest in prostate diseases, both cancer and BPH, as well as stone disease and vasectomy reversal.
Andrew is a member of Victorian Committee of the Urological Society of Australia and New Zealand and also its representative on the state council of the AMA.
